For the April edition of our ongoing, Pllant-curated immersive environments, we're hosting Amsterdam-based visual artist Nicolás Castagno. With one of the final runs of analogue projectors in tow, Nicolás casts the kaleidoscopic glow of his hand-painted slides over OT301's big, black box next Thursday, 24 April.

We can now announce our full movie programme for May: we continue our Miyazaki adoration with the legend animator's new (and last ever) feature The Wind Rises at LantarenVenster, Rotterdam on 6 May, as well as the movie that made his name back in 1984, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind at Melkweg Cinema, Amsterdam on 27 May. All that and another, very different classic, Michael Winterbottom's riotous po-mo biopic about Factory Records, 24 Hour Party People, screening at Studio/K on 21 May.

San Francisco's Mara Barenbaum and her evocative palette of steely clockwork beats, Suicide synth and tropical rhythm will join Moon & Sun, Moemlien, Nadine Byrne and more for a particularly exotic The Rest Is Noise at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam on 30 May.

The third film by acclaimed Canadian director Xavier Dolan is a subtle thriller that follows grieving Tom as he struggles to come to terms with the death of his boyfriend Guillaume's unexpected death. We were so blown away by Irish noiseniks Girl Band we figured every local Subbacultcha! clan had to seem them live. Their show with British post-punks TRAAMS at EKKO on 22 June, Utrecht is free for members.

It's not all good news this week. Montreal duo have unfortunately cancelled their European tour and will therefore not be performing at OCCII on the 29th of April and Poortgebouw on the 9th of May.
