Our love affair with Glaswegian DIY label Night School Records continues. Having previously hosted a bevy of artists from the Night School clan – Molly Nilsson, Sally Dige, Group Rhoda and most recently Cleveland noisenik Prostitutes – we now turn label mastermind Michael Kasparis aka Apostille and newcomers Happy Meals. Despite launching Night School back in 2011, Kasparis has yet to make his own label debut. That’s about to change though. With Powerless lined up for release on 27 April, Kasparis brings his confronting solo act to Europe. Joining him are synth duo Happy Meals. Helmed by fellow Glaswegians Suzanne Rodden and Lewis Cook, Happy Meals call to mine equal parts Group Rhoda and 936-era Peaking Lights with their crunching “cosmic disco”.
