Somewhere Else

18 July

Emerging from the bowels of TrouwAmsterdam, Somewhere Else is heading to 7th Heaven on 18 July for a sneak peek at Canvasopde7e with ITAL, Aurora Halal, Blue Hawaii (dj-set) and residents Luc Mast & Arif Malawi.

Attend event:

Emerging from the bowels of TrouwAmsterdam, Somewhere Else is heading to 7th Heaven before it’s officially open to the public. Completely revamped, Canvas returns to sit atop of the new Volkshotel and to mark the occasion we’re bringing in Ital, Aurora Halal, Blue Hawaii’s Agor and Somewhere Else residents, Luc Mast & Arif Malawi. A true musical prodigy, Ital’s Daniel Martin-McCormick is a scene chameleon who has made great leaps between genres. Sprung from the Washington DC hardcore scene (lead vocals of Black Eyes), Martin-McCormick has stemmed through punk-funk outfit Mi Ami and poisoned synth-pop Sex Worker, finally thriving as experimental house producer Ital on NNF’s sister label 100% Silk. Ital’s brand of versatile and energetic DIY dance will be brought to you in collaboration with visual artist/producer Aurora Halal. The pair’s debut EP The Day After is best described as a trippy, acid-touched spiralling sound featuring “strobing club anthems and ephemeral head trips”. Rounding off the bill are Blue Hawaii (dj-set), who have ditched 2013 Arbutus release Together in favour of rousing, ecclectic dj-sets, and Somewhere Else residents Luc Mast & Arif Malawi.
