Metallic walls of noise and hysteria are not common bedfellows with rollicking drum machines and dreamy guitar strums. But Toronto outfit Odonis Odonis’ hybridity, self-dubbed (tongue firmly in cheek) ‘industrial postgaze’, explodes with a frantic energy that constantly threatens to spill over.

Toronto punk outfit Odonis Odonis are not lacking in wide reference points, their knowing, hyphenated rock spanning industrial-, surf- and noise- without breaking a sweat. This shows on their imminent sophomore full-length, which gradually ebbs from sharp punk shocks into a shoegazey flipside. Metallic walls of noise and Klaxons-ish hysteria are not common bedfellows with rollicking drum machines and dreamy guitar strums. And it’s this hybridity, self-dubbed (tongue firmly in cheek) ‘industrial postgaze’, together with a frantic energy that constantly threatens to spill over, that makes for a schizophrenic live experience like no other.
