/kult Film: Ponyo

16 April

‘Japanese Walt Disney’ Hayao Miyazaki and his Studio Ghibli are superlative legends in animating. Spirited Away marked the climax of international acclaim for a director and studio that had already produced the cult classic Princess Mononoke and went onto further critical hysteria with Howl’s Moving Castle, not to mention their countless other landmark features in animé. Part of Studio/K’s /Kult Film series, which screens cult classics every month, 2009’s Ponyo follows a magical goldfish who befriends a small boy called Sosuke, falls in love, and determines to become human.
